It can also be regarded as a device for adding a pair of axially movable intermediate rolls between the working roll and the backup roll of a four-high mill. The equipment is generally used for cold-rolled broadband steel.
In addition, there is also popular equipment, called partial eight-high mill, which has a working roll diameter of 1/6 of the backup roll and makes a relative deviation to prevent the horizontal bending of the working roll. The working rolls of the mill have good stability and high horizontal stiffness and are used for cold rolling of refractory steel, silicon steel, and non-ferrous metal strips.
